Hardhout is een uiterst duurzame houtsoort met een lange levensduur. Bij gebruik als vlonderplank kunnen echter, door blootstelling aan weersomstandigheden, kleine scheurtjes ontstaan aan de kopse kanten. Om dit te voorkomen, raden wij aan om de kopse kanten te behandelen met een speciale sealer. Dit vermindert de kans op droogtescheuren aanzienlijk.
